FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Who should use Any Object Contact Role Extender?
Not all Salesforce objects allow Contact Roles. Currently, Salesforce only allows the functionality on Account, Case, Contract and Opportunity. If you want to add Contact roles to other Salesforce or Custom objects then you would need to develop it yourself. We created Any Object Contact Role Extender because we wanted admins to be able to add Contact Roles with no code in Lightning, and as little code as possible for Classic.
Can I get a trial of Any Object Contact Role Extender?
Yes, when you install the application from the AppExchange you automatically get a 15 day trial, at the end of which you can purchase a license.
How much does Any Object Contact Role Extender cost?
The cost is $1295 per year per company but you get a 15 day trial before you have to purchase a license.
Is it easy to install?
Yes it only takes a few minutes to have it installed! Any Object Contact Role Extender installs a few custom objects, a permission set, a lightning component and a Visualforce page. Then you need to have permission sets applied to users and to put the Lightning component on a page. To add the Visualforce page to Classic pages takes a little bit of coding but we provide an example.
Is Any Object Contact Role Extender Lightning component a related list?
No it is not. It’s a List View within a Lightning component, that’s where the magic happens.
Can I have more than one Any Object Contact Role Extender Lightning Component on a single page?
For now you can only have one per page. This means you cana only have one Custom Contact Role List, using our product, per Lightning Page.
I set up the Custom Contact Object but it’s not working, what’s wrong?
Make sure your API object name matches the Salesforce object. Also make sure your AccountID API name is the correct and the name and is actually an account lookup. This is required.
Can I have more than one Contact Role per Object?
Yes. You can have as many Contact Roles per Custom Contact Object as you want.
After I add a Contact Role to a record can I edit the Contact's name?
No. Once you add a Contact to the Role for that record you can only edit the role. If you want to change the name you need to delete the record and add the correct Contact name.
When I add a Contact Role to a record the Contacts do not load automatically, how do I search?
Simply start to type a Contact’s name, or partial name and the control will search the Contacts for that related Account.
Can I modify the application?
No. It is a managed package.
